ГъылыӀад хэкумкӀэ Тыщбэ щыщ Илас Ахъаб риӀуагъ: «Израилым и Тхьэу зыпашъхьэ ситыр зэрэщыӀэр сэӀо! Сэ сымыӀоу мы илъэсхэм осэпси къемыхынкӀэ, ощхи къемыщхынкӀэ».

ДжылыӀэдейм хыхьэ Тыщбы щыщ Иляс Ӏэхьэб жриӀащ: «СызыхуэжыӀэщӀэ ТХЬЭМ, ИсрэӀилым и Тхьэм, и цӀэкӀэ соӀуэ, жызмыӀауэ мы илъэсхэм уэсэпси къызэремыхынур, уэшхи къызэремышхынур».
English
And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

«Мы щӀыпӀэм икӀи, къуэкӀыпӀэ лъэныкъуэмкӀэ кӀуэ. Ӏурдын и къуэкӀыпӀэмкӀэ щыӀэ ЧэрытӀ псыхъуэм деж зыщыгъэпщкӀу.
English
Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
Verse 4

А игъукӀырэ псыхъом псы ущешъощт, къолэжъхэм ащ дэжь ущагъэшхэнэу унашъо афэсшӀыгъ».

Псыежэхым узэфэн псыр къыхэпхынщ, къуалэжьхэм пшхын ерыскъыр къыпхуахьыну унафэ яхуэсщӀакӀэщ».
English
And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

Арыти, Зиусхьаным ипсалъэ къызэрэлъыӀэсыгъэу ащ ышӀыгъ: Иордан икъокӀыпӀэ лъэныкъокӀэ щыӀэ игъукӀырэ псыхъоу Къэрит кӀуи, ащ къэнагъ.

Арати, Иляс ТХЬЭМ къызэрыжриӀам хуэдэу ищӀащ. Ӏурдын и къуэкӀыпӀэмкӀэ щыӀэ ЧэрытӀ псыхъуэм кӀуэри, абдеж къыщынащ.

So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
